It’s that time of year, October is upon us faster than winter that hasn’t arrived yet or dragons even. October is a uniquely special month for many, not just because of Halloween/ol’hallows eve or the candy, the costumes, the fall weather, and the pumpkin spice everything but it’s a special month for basically anyone that wants it to be. Starting around 2009 an artist named Jake Parker began a movement dubbed “inktober, a 30day art challenge to sketch only in ink at least 1 sketch a day for 30days. Parker’s intent is for iteration, improvement, others its a doodlebug time. There are prompts that are different each year, to give an idea and you draw what you feel/think represents the idea or prompts. This challenge has gained fanfare far and wide, check twitter and Instagram for evidence of this even especially starting around and before October and you’ll see the sketches starting up.
Now, here’s something to make it even more interesting – what are you going to do with all your art? You’ll have pages and pages of art and then move on to the next project. Well, you got the art, we’re here to print it – is it a little shameless hopefully only comically. However it’s a real consideration, the holidays cruise ever closer upon us and many scramble for days and hours at a time for deals and finding that just right gift well whats better than custom art wall decal, or a special design car decal, window clings. There’s so much to do with 30 days of sketches and art. What better way to memorialize a challenge.
The art you’ll create ideally in INK will be prime for being whats called vectorized and imported into our design tool. So that funky squid you drew, and the eerie snake you did, all of it can be resized as small or large as you desire – either for pranks or gifts, skateboard art, there’s really no limit to what you can do even the ambitious ones of us could resell our art as “prints” and its your art. An incentive for the creative folk , a special contest for those participating # tag your art with #inktoberLOTC and tag us in the image/description @lotc_official a lucky artist will be randomly chosen for a free print of their art.
